New mini paintings

Over this past holiday weekend, I painted a couple minis - ACEO paintings. ACEO stands for Art Card, Editions and Originals - basically art trading cards. They are 2.5 x 3.5 inches with a .5 inch white border painted in oil on gesso coated canvas paper. I'm pleased they both have already sold on my Etsy website. Many thanks to my two newest collectors!

Nancy, thanks for sharing the information on ACEOs, is the canvas paper the same as the canvas pads or is it 'stiffer', like card? Your painting are very fresh looking with a good variety of brushwork.
All the best, Eddie

Hi Eddie, thank you for your comment and question. Yes, the canvas paper is the same as the pads. I tape off the exact size of the ACEO and then gesso the painting surface area before I begin painting. After the painting is completely dry I peel off the tape and cut the paper down so there is a 1/2 inch margin around the piece to allow for my signature and for matting and framing.
